Billy Stringfellow

Billy Edward Stringfellow, 62, of Sparkman, AR went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2025. Surrounded by his family as they sang hymns of praise, Billy smiled with pure joy as he left his earthly body and entered the presence of the Lord. As his family, we are grateful for the blessed assurance that we’ll see him again by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. 

Billy was born on July 18, 1963, in Fordyce, AR to the late Joyce Dees and the late Bill Stringfellow. 

He graduated from Fordyce High School in 1981. He worked at Allstate Roofing Co. until January 1987, when he began his career at Atlantic Research Corporation (now L3 Harris) which spanned over 38 years. Billy obtained many qualifications and certifications throughout the years, which include Lead Quality NDT engineer, Level 3 in radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing. Most recently, Billy received the title of Radiation Safety Officer — Camden site. He loved his job and took great pride in the projects he participated in. 

Billy was saved by Christ as a young man and was baptized in the Ouachita River. He attended Ouachita Baptist Church in Sparkman, AR, where he faithfully served as music leader for many years. 

Billy is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Melanie Key Stringfellow, his children Jillian Horton (Jeremy), Nicholas Stringfellow (Heather), and Rachel Shipp (Eric). He was greatly adored by his grandchildren, Noah, Anna-Kate, Ean, Bo-Dixie, Abigail, Wyatt, Adaline, Benjamin, Knox, and Hudson, all of whom affectionately called him, “Bull.” 

Billy is also survived by his identical twin brother, Bobby Stringfellow, and sisters, Linda Green and Emily Huff; stepfather, Earl Dees; stepsiblings, Danette Kemp, Deann Denison, Duane Denton, and Cannon Dees. 

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Dees and Bill Stringfellow, his baby brother, Scotty Stringfellow, unborn grandchild, Matty Reese Shipp, and stepmother, Pat Stringfellow. 

Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. prior to the funeral services at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Sparkman First Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Jeremy Horton, Bro. Ken Key, and Bro. Rusty Ross. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery near Sparkman. 

Pallbearers are Jeremy Lucas, Jerimie Butler, Todd Clemens, Steven Weeks, Farren Spaulding, Wendell Gunter, and Saxon Shepherd
