Edith Allen Bennington, age 80, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born July 25, 1945, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of the late Herbert Emerson and Thelma Mae Carpenter Christy.
Edith worked as a bookkeeper for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. Edith enjoyed gardening, drawing, and spending time with her dog, Rosie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jane McKay.
Edith is survived by two sons, Jeff Bennington and his wife Madeline of Arkadelphia, and Jim Bennington and his wife Becky of South Haven, MS, one brother, Chris Christy and his wife Beth Ann of Houston, TX, five grandchildren, Jack Bennington and his wife Madalyn, Caroline Bennington, Spencer Bennington, Jay Bennington and his wife Katie, Lindsey Proll and her husband John, five great grandchildren, and her beloved puppy, Rosie.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday October 24, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Jimmy Darby officiating.
