Mary Madeline Benson, age 85, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, September 5, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born March 29, 1940, in Santa Fe, NM, the daughter of Isabella Kapus. Madeline was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She enjoyed going to the casino, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Benson, Sr, one son, Billy Benson, Jr, one granddaughter, Sara Blassingame, one brother, Arthur Baca, two sisters, Teresa and Shirley Ann.
Survivors are two sons, Michael Benson (Brenda) of Arkadelphia and Jonathan Benson (Chandler) of Little Elm, TX, Two daughters, Peggy Pulles (Jack) of Hanover, PA, and Angela Benson Gober (Hoye) of Beirne, one sister, Delores Dayhoff of Denver, CO, one brother, John Herrera of Santa Fe, NM, fourteen grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Mark Wood officiating.
The rosary will be at 5:30 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home with David Evans officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
