Police were summoned to Circle K, 3005 W. Pine St., for a report of indecent exposure. A female customer said she was pumping fuel when she witnessed a stark-naked white male staring at her. The man, described as heavy set and with brown hair, reportedly pulled up next to the pump she was using, driving a red Ford Ranger, which he exited in the nude. He didn’t make any gestures or say anything — only stood naked and stared, she said. Police reviewed surveillance footage that showed the red pickup park at the pump, but an awning column obstructed camera view of the driver’s side. The vehicle left the station and ultimately headed west on Pine Street. Store management was advised to obtain surveillance footage covering exterior cameras during the provided timeframe. Officers on duty were provided with the still photo of the suspect vehicle.

Police were called to 15th and Wilson streets for a report of a male passed out and partially in the roadway. En route to the call, an officer located a person, barefoot except for one sock, stumble into the roadway at 15th and Phillips street. The subject, identified as 61-year-old Caddo Street resident Darrell Barnett, struggled to maintain balance as he walked into the middle of the street. The officer parked and exited her vehicle and tried getting Barnett’s attention, ultimately stepping in front of him and raising her voice to ask if he was OK before he responded, saying his back and neck hurt but refused medical attention. Barnett said he wasn’t on any medication, and didn’t relay where he was trying to go. Noting an odor of intoxicants emitting from his person, Barnett was asked to take a seat on the curb. Due to concern that he was a danger to himself and the suspicion that he was under the influence, Barnett was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the county jail. Police later learned that Barnett had sustained an injury to his head and was being released to a relative for transport to the hospital. The arresting officer spoke with an ER nurse who believed the injury to be a burn, though police did not observe such an injury during their interactions with Barnett.

The station manager relayed that the boarding passenger, Day, clad only in a “piece of neon green tarp”, was denied a ride for not wearing a shirt. Officers searched the vicinity for Day with no success until the Arkadelphia Fire Department reported seeing a suspect matching Day’s description at 9th and Caddo streets; police responded to the area and located Day and North 10th and Pine. Because of his erratic behavior and signs of impairment, Day was taken into custody for public intoxication.
