Groundbreaking slated for Southwest Arkansas Mega Site in Clark County

The community is invited to celebrate the kickoff of site development work at the newly rebranded Southwest Arkansas Mega Site in Gum Springs.

The groundbreaking ceremony comes after the December 2024 announcement that the Economic Development Corp. of Clark County was the recipient of $1 million in grant funding from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

Clark County was among 13 communities in Arkansas to receive AEDC grant funding that was part of a statewide initiative distributing $10 million for job-creating economic development projects.

The Clark County project marks a major step forward in preparing the site for future job growth and economic opportunity.

The grant will fund development efforts such as due diligence, site certification and erosion engineering at the 991-acre site near the Clark County Industrial Park.

The event officially begins at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, at 3053 US Highway 67, site of the Richwood power substation.
