David Wayne Dempsey, age 71, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday May 25, 2025, at Nightingale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. He was born on March 22, 1954, in Gurdon, the son of the late Mickey and Alta Stauffer Dempsey.
David worked as a heavy equipment operator for B & R Construction for many years. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church. David enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mike Dempsey.
David is survived by is wife, Tamra Bliss Dempsey, two sons, Brandon (Natasha) Dempsey of Williston, ND, and Shane (Sarah) Dempsey of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Amber (Brant) Weems of Gurdon, six grandchildren, Bentley Dempsey, Rylee Weems, Hunter Dempsey, Sawyer Dempsey, Gunner Weems, and Hallie Dempsey, two sisters, Rhonda (Gary) Sheperd of Arkadelphia, and Denise (Tommy) Freeman of Arkadelphia.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday June 1st at Welch Funeral Home.
