WASHINGTON, Arkansas — The Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives (SARA) and Historic Washington State Park will host a workshop Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the 1914 School in Historic Washington State Park.
“Preserving Your Family Treasures” will teach participants how to properly care for and preserve their family heirlooms.
Melissa Nesbitt, archival manager of SARA, will present tips on how to care for and preserve family photographs and paper documents. Josh Williams, curator of Historic Washington State Park, will present tips on caring for an preserving family artifacts such as clothing, quilts and decorative household items.
Participants may bring one small item from each of the following categories: documents, photographs, or a physical artifact from their family collections to have evaluated for preservation needs.
