Joseph “Big Joe” Boyer, age 87, of Arkadelphia passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at his home. He was born February 3, 1938 in Pike City, Arkansas to the late Andrew and Ida Opal (Freeman) Boyer.
Big Joe was a member of the Gideons International, as well as a member of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid bowler and was a paint and body repairman by trade. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, such as hunting, fishing, and gardening. Big Joe was a hard worker who absolutely loved his children and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Opal Boyer; brother, Andrew T. Boyer; and sisters, Alice Jett and Barbara Sue Boyer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Aileen Boyer of Arkadelphia; children, Joseph “Little Joe” Boyer (wife, Sherri), Beverly Johnson (husband, Rob), Stacy Munson (husband, Damon), Shawna Wilson (husband, Tye), Selina Boyer, Henry Hamilton (wife, Trish); 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Gary and Molly Shaw; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss Big Joe dearly.
