EDCCC green-lights $2M development to Gum Springs super site

The Economic Development Corp. of Clark County held a special meeting Monday, March 3, 2025, to discuss further development to the Gum Springs job super site on US Highway 67.

The project includes construction of a temporary access road, clearing the site of brush and trees, erosion control measures and additional due diligence required to move the land toward super site certification.

The site, located west of Highway 67, comprises a 991-acre swath of land situated south of Arkansas Highway 26 to just north of Whippoorwill Lane.

The Little Rock-based Bailey Construction and Consulting will be contracted to manage the project.

The project’s total comes with a $1,952,337 price tag, half of which will be covered by a $1 million grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. The 1/2-cent-tax-funded EDCCC will cover the remainder of the project costs, including the matching funds required by the grant and the extra costs to complete the full project.

The site development is said to help make the property more marketable and ready to meet a prospect’s needs.
