Hope man wins $50,000 lottery prize

Hope resident Bradagen Kaytar won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Feb. 26.

The $20 winning ticket was purchased at Barakaat Abundance USA LLC, 1201 N. Hervey St. in Hope.

Kaytar bought his ticket last weekend on his way to work. The Hope man usually plays $10 and $20 lottery games monthly or whenever he “feels lucky.” This time, he followed his intuition and purchased a $50,000 Frenzy instant ticket.

He scratched the ticket off in his car and could only stare in shock when he realized he had won the game’s $50,000 top prize.

“Am I looking at this right?” he asked.

The player quickly went back inside to scan his ticket. Sure enough, both the ticket scanner and the store clerk confirmed that he had won the $50,000 prize. Excited, Kaytar said he couldn’t wait to collect his winnings at the ASL Claim Center.

“I tossed and turned the whole night,” Kaytar told lottery officials. “I thought to myself, ‘Is it 5 a.m. yet?’”

So far, the lucky winner has only shared the good news with his family. He plans to “get caught up” with his prize. “I should start listening to my gut more!” Kaytar said. “Something this good happened this early in the year—what will the rest of the year be like?”
