Arvie L. Crudup, a Southern Arkansas University Police Department patrolman, was terminated by the department on February 18, 2025 after an investigation into alleged improper online conduct.
SAU Police Chief Jeff Jester, responding to a Freedom of Information document request, released on Monday two documents.
The first letter, dated February 11, was a letter from Jester to Crudup notifying the officer that he was being placed on administrative leave.
The letter said that Jester learned earlier that morning of allegations accusing Crudup of “concerns involving conversations, chats and texts with someone that identified themselves as an underage female. Copies of these items, along with some videos were provided, as well.
“SAUPD will be conducting an internal investigation concerning these allegations. This investigation is not criminal nor are we seeking anything but truthful facts concerning the allegations,” the letter said.
