Bruce Moorman Sr.

Bruce Evans Moorman, Sr., age 87, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home in Memphis.  He was born May 17, 1937, in Gurdon, the son of the late Ruben and Audrey Clark Moorman.  

Bruce was a 1955 graduate of Gurdon High School and a 1962 graduate of the University of Arkansas. He was a United States Navy veteran.  Bruce worked as a chemist for Humko Chemicals and at the Veterans Administration Hospital as a nurse.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Memphis.  Bruce enjoyed investing and real estate in his free time.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Angela Elizabeth Moorman, two sisters, Rubedene Moorman DeRosa and Hilda Moorman Bennett.

Bruce is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Barbara Booker Moorman of the home, one son, Bruce Evans Moorman, Jr.  of Memphis, two grandchildren, Bruce Evans Moorman III (Cassi) and Mark Lee Moorman both of Memphis, two great-grandchildren, Baker Ellis Moorman and Collins Anderson Moorman both of Memphis. 

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Center Ridge Cemetery with Eddie Clark officiating.

Visitation will be private.  

Memorials may be made to Center Ridge Cemetery Fund or the charity of your choice.
