A woman reported being duped out of $500 in a Facebook scam. Taking interest in a good deal on a vehicle she contacted the purported seller, who apparently used a hacked account under a name shared by the school superintendent. The seller advised she would need to deposit the money through PayPal to place a hold on the vehicle. The PayPal account, she noted, was to an email address that didn’t match the seller’s name. Once the money was sent, the seller halted communications with the buyer. The victim would later learn from the superintendent’s spouse that the account was fake and that Facebook refused to remove the vehicle listing. She was referred to the state Attorney General’s office for followup.

9:45 p.m.
Officers took a report of a domestic disturbance that had occurred earlier in the day at a North 10th Street location. Sunday, Feb. 2
1:15 a.m.
As Officer Adam Taylor was making a turn from North 10th Street to Chevrolet Drive he observed a vehicle behind him approaching at an estimated speed of 80 mph. Taylor braced for impact, but the driver came to a screeching halt about 6 feet from Taylor’s rear bumper. Taylor then initiated a traffic stop, catching a whiff of intoxicants and burnt marijuana as he neared the driver’s window. The driver and sole occupant, Alexshaun Tacarra Walker, 35, of Arkadelphia, had an unsteady gait as she stepped from her vehicle and walked to Taylor’s patrol unit. Walker was allegedly verbally abusive toward Taylor and pulled away as she was being detained, ultimately being “placed” on the ground without incident or injury. A backup officer arrived and was met with more resistance from Walker, who went limp as the officers tried to get her to her feet. They were able to get Walker to stand, but an apparent attempt to flee was met with Taylor’s Taser deployment to her upper thigh/hip. The officers then observed Walker striking her own head onto the ground multiple times. More backup arrived to help lift Walker to her feet, but further resistance prompted police to drag her to the unit. Getting Walker into the backseat proved to be a laborious task for police as she spat on them, gave them an earful of “hateful, anti-Caucasian speech” and sprawled out so they couldn’t shut the car door. Once in the backseat, Walker was transported to the jail, where she continued to be limp and combative and was dragged into the facility. Walker was charged with a slew of misdemeanor violations including DWI-2nd offense, driving with a suspended license, following too closely, no liability insurance, speeding, resisting arrest and refusal to submit to a breath test.
