Eddie White recognized for 25 years of service at Arkadelphia Post Office

As part of the United States Postal Service’s “For the Long Haul” initiative, the Arkadelphia Post Office is celebrating Eddie White, a dedicated retail associate who has faithfully served the Arkadelphia community for over 25 years at the same Post Office.

Eddie’s commitment and exceptional service have made him a beloved figure in the community. 

“For the Long Haul” is an initiative designed to honor the remarkable dedication of long-serving USPS employees like Eddie, who have become integral parts of their communities through their unwavering commitment and service excellence. 

Eddie is the face of the Arkadelphia post office. His story began with the Postmaster finding him on the ball field, and said to him, “come carry some mail!” After joining the USPS in 1993, Eddie decided to serve as a clerk instead; and he has been a great one, quickly establishing himself as a reliable and friendly presence at the Arkadelphia post office.

Over the years, Eddie has become a familiar face to countless customers, known for his warm smile, helpful attitude, and outstanding service. His deep knowledge of postal operations and his genuine care for the community have made him an indispensable part of the Arkadelphia Post Office. 

Lisa Wright, of the United States Postal Service, said, “Eddie knows the address scheme by heart and remembers almost everyone’s address. He effortlessly sorts mail every morning before transitioning to the window, where his customers are always glad to see him. If he isn’t there, people ask where he is — all day long.

“Eddie has a wealth of postal knowledge, and everyone trusts that he is taking care of their mail and packages. He knows everybody in town, and always has a joke to share. He has developed lifelong relationships with the customers and is always involved in the community. He supports the schools, businesses and churches and is always willing to help someone when he can.”
