A Columbia County inmate has died in state custody.
James Adam Wright Jr. died Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Larry B. Norris Unit, said Rand Champion, communications director for the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
“He was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff where he was pronounced dead that afternoon and family was notified. The Arkansas State Police has been notified and is conducting an investigation into his death,” Champion said in an email to magnoliareporter.com.
