The National League of Junior Cotillions South Central Arkansas Chapter announced open enrollment for pre-cotillion students. Families in Clark County have the option to attend classes in either Hot Springs or Benton.
The purpose of the National League of Junior Pre-Cotillions is to give young people instruction and practice in the courtesies that make life more pleasant for them and those around them. It offers instruction in the areas of complete social etiquette, designed for grades first through fourth, that focuses in the area of developing character.
In addition to the usual courtesies, including greetings, table manners, correspondence, and appearances, we also offer instruction in the areas of birthday parties, sports manners, restaurants (both fast food and formal) and the values of honor, respect, dignity, honesty, and responsibility.
The pre-cotillions program setting will encourage children to be comfortable together, to make new friends, and enjoy themselves. Through role-playing (practiced with assistants), hands-on experience and story-telling in a peer group, young ladies and gentlemen are expected to leave the program with the beginnings of confidence and poise that comes from knowing the proper things to do.
Class dates and times are on the website based on the grade of the student. If you would like to be considered to be on the NLJC Advisory Board, which nominates potential students and helps get information out to the public, contact director Brittany Moore at 901-619-2663.
The National League of Junior Cotillions is an etiquette and social dance training program that involves thousands of students nationwide. For information regarding the chapter, email brittany.moore@nljc.com. Visit the chapter’s website at http://www.nljc.com/chapter/southcentralar.
