Carl Flowers

Carl Dean Flowers, 86, of Okolona, AR passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Carl was born August 10, 1938 in Caney, AR to Fred and Elvie Almond Flowers.

Mr. Flowers was a Retired Gurdon Fire Chief and a mechanic for 31 years at Gurdon Ford Company. He loved to fish and deer hunt. He was a wonderful husband, father, und grandfather. Carl would work at night and babysit his grandson during the mornings. He took his wife and grandson on many trips around the United States.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother  Gene Flowers, a sister Freda White, a sister-in-law Wanda Flowers.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Shirley Gilbert Flowers, his son Gary Flowers (DeeAnn) all of Okolona, his grandson Lee Flowers; a nephew Clay Flowers, a niece Kathy White, a brother-in-law Jerry White of Bryant.

Graveside service is scheduled 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Rosehedge Cemetery in Gurdon with Bro. Dennis Jones officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Homes-Gurdon.
