Carroll “Pop” Gordon, age 87, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Nightingale Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. He was born March 15, 1937, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Alex and Vada Shaw Gordon.
Pop worked in road construction during his career. He was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. Pop enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Barry Gordon, one daughter, Debbie Gordon and one sister, Maxine Glaze.
Pop is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Carlene Sowell of Arkadelphia, two daughters, Kelli Lancaster and Carla Sowell Nutt (Ricky) both of Arkadelphia, one brother, Gale Gordon of Crossett, one sister, Geraldine Kimbrough of L.A., CA, eight grandchildren, Ian Gordon, Josh Gordon, Daniel Gordon, Chad Cox, Cody Cox, Zeke Lancaster, Corey Brown and Eric Nutt.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2024, at DeGray Cemetery with Pastor Chad Cox officiating.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Josh Gordon, Ian Gordon, Daniel Gordon, Cody Cox, Chad Cox, Zeek Landcaster, Eric Nutt and Corey Brown.
