Hazel Wingfield Peters, age 97, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born August 14, 1927, in Gurdon, the daughter of the late Raymond Eric and Clarabel Hall Wingfield.
Hazel was a 1946 graduate of Okolona High School. She was the former manager of Park Hill Kiddie World Daycare. Hazel was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening in her free time.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Gale Peters, two sons, Dickey Peters and Gary Peters, three brothers, Dale, Ezra and Austin Wingfield, two sisters, Glendean Roberson and Christine Wagner.
Survivors are daughter in laws, Becky Peters of Arkadelphia and Anita Peters of Arkadelphia, four grandchildren, Scott Peters (Wendy) of Springdale, Kelli Loy (Lee) of Curtis, Michael Peters of Arkadelphia and Kyle Peters (Emily) of Hooks, TX, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ray Wingfield (Hilda) of Arkadelphia and Bert Wingfield (Jacque) of Arkadelphia, sister in law, Merle Wingfield of Arkadelphia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 27, 2024, at Welch Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Michael Peters, Scott Peters, Roger Wingfield, Ray Wingfield, Lee Loy and Stan Roberson.
