Members of Clark County Quorum Court will start the new year with a swearing-in ceremony and organizational meeting on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
The 11 justices of the peace, including two new faces — Llewellyn Terry (District 4) and Stuart Thomas (District 6) — will convene at 10 a.m. in the upstairs courtroom of the Court Complex Building, 419 Clay St., Arkadelphia.
Justices of the peace, who are elected members of the county’s legislative body, will take the oath of office, vowing to uphold both the U.S. and Arkansas constitutions. Circuit Judge Blake Batson will administer the oath.
Once sworn in, justices will set the time and place for their monthly meetings for the next two years.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting does not list any other business. The ceremony and meeting are open to the public.
