Dispatch Desk: Dec. 9-15

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, Dec. 9
7:39 a.m.
A woman complained of receiving text messages about her daughter from an unknown person. After blocking the number she made police aware of the situation. A detective attempted to make contact with the person, but the phone call ended abruptly.

9:50 a.m.
An officer assisted investigators in serving a felony warrant at a Cutler Street residence on Dramethius Pace, 32, who was in the company of a female with a standing no contact order against him. In addition to the felony warrant for theft by receiving, Pace was charged with violating the order.

Tuesday, Dec. 10
8:27 a.m.
Following a third party’s complaint of a disturbance at Powder Mill Apartments, 2801 Twin Rivers Dr., police responded to the residence and made contact with the involved parties. After taking statements from both and observing physical evidence, police arrested Shemar Dickens, 25, and Brittney Lizaette Rodriguez, 23, for third-degree domestic battery.

12:52 p.m.
Officers were summoned to the CADC/Senior Activity Center, 1311 N. 10th St., for a complaint of a man making threats and refusing to move his car to allow the caller to leave. The caller was advised of warrant procedures.

3:06 p.m.
A resident of Village Creek Apartments, 2811 Twin Rivers Dr., reported someone fraudulently set up an account with Verizon using her personal information. The caller showed police an overdue bill addressed to her. She was advised a report would be on file and that she would need to contact Verizon.

Wednesday, Dec. 11
11:21 a.m.
Officers were requested at Powder Mill Apartments for a report that someone had kicked in a door to an inhabited apartment, causing damage to the door jamb. A suspect — a previous tenant who lived next door — was named the following day.

12:15 p.m.
Police were called to a High School Drive location, where a female reported her ex was yelling profanities at and making threats toward her from the Wendy’s parking lot. She showed police a video of the encounter and provided an email he allegedly sent after he fled the area. An officer caught up with the suspect and conducted a traffic stop near 26th and Walnut streets, arresting John David Wright, 38, for violation of a protection order.

9:36 p.m.
Officers responded to the parking lot at Baptist Health Medical Center, where a physical altercation had taken place. A woman said a known female had slammed her to the ground and struck her in the face. The aggressor and the caller’s ex left the area when they were informed police were being called to the scene. Police observed a minor abrasion to her forehead and advised her of warrant procedures.

Thursday, Dec. 12
12:40 p.m.
Police were summoned to Country Club Self Storage, 2500 Country Club Road, for a report that one of the units had been pried open. The renter was contacted and arrived, noting he had recently been there and did not notice anything missing.

Friday, Dec. 13

Felony incident still under investigation: Theft of a Credit/Debit Card, Gresham Street

10:17 a.m.
Officers were summoned to a North 14th Street residence for a report of a female who became unruly when her landlord handed her an eviction notice, destroying property and instigating a fight with the landlord. The situation was settled when the landlord agreed to let the tenant stay if she would calm down.

7:44 p.m.
An officer was requested at Walmart, where loss prevention accused an employee of stealing a gaming console from the online pickup area. No arrest was made, and no citation had been given at the time of this writing.

Saturday, Dec. 14
4:20 a.m.
Police responded to a 911 hangup call at a North 14th Street residence, learning that a female had called during an argument she said turned physical. She was given a courtesy transport to a friend’s house.

7:30 p.m.
Joseph Nicholas Perser, 31, was reported missing from his Walnut Street home. His father said Perser had traveled Friday to Memphis in an unreliable vehicle to pick up an unknown female, and was supposed to be on his way back home when he phoned from a Waffle House in Memphis. Perser is a white male and was driving a blue 2017 Hyundai Elantra.

Sunday, Dec. 15
1:29 a.m.
Officers were called to a Gresham Street residence, where a man complained that a known female was in possession of his car keys and refused to give them back. Police determined that the complainant, 33-year-old Samuel Lucas Dell, of Little Rock, was under the influence of alcohol, and learned from the female that she had indeed confiscated the keys in an effort to keep him from driving. Given the option to stay at the residence or have someone pick him up, Dell said he didn’t want to stay there and became irate when police informed him they weren’t waiting on his mom to travel from Little Rock. Dell was arrested for public intoxication.

Friday, Dec. 13
2:36 p.m.
A deputy was summoned to a residence at the 2800 block of Arkansas Highway 53 (Southfork) for a report of a damaged mailbox. Five other mailboxes in the area had also sustained damage.
