8,653 employed in Clark County

Clark County’s unemployment rate for October 2024, not seasonally adjusted, is at 4%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.

According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 8,997 persons with 8,653 employed and 362 unemployed. This compares to September’s labor force of 8,970 with 8,620 employed and 350 unemployed.

The unemployment rate in Clark County rose one-tenths of a percentage point from the 3.9% reported in September. Clark County had the highest jobless rate among each of its six neighboring counties. The highest jobless rate in Arkansas was 6.3% in Chicot County (Lake Village), while Washington County (Fayetteville) reported the lowest job rate, at 2%.

Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate was at 3.3% in October; no change from September. The U.S. unemployment rate was at 4.2% in October, a slight increase of one-tenths of a percentage point from the previous month.

The unemployment rate for Dallas County (Fordyce) is at 3.3% in October, no change from September. Dallas County reports a labor force of 2,653.

The unemployment rate for Hot Spring County (Malvern) is at 3.3% in October, up from 3.2% in September. Hot Spring County reports a labor force of 13,752.

The unemployment rate for Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) is at 3.9% in October, down from 4% in September. Montgomery County reports a labor force of 2,820.

The unemployment rate for Nevada County (Prescott) is at 3.2% in October, no change from September. Nevada County reports a labor force of 3,218.

The unemployment rate for Ouachita County (Camden) is at 3.8% in October, up from 3.5% in September. Ouachita County reports a labor force of 9,806.

The unemployment rate for Pike County (Murfreesboro) is at 3.5% in October, up from 3.2% in September. Pike County reports a labor force of 3,965.
