Leta Joan (Hearnsberger) Friday, age 86, of Longview, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Longview Hill Nursing Center in Longview, TX. She was born September 30, 1938, in Kellyville, OK, the daughter of the late Curtis and Ethel Golden Myers.
Joan was a 1956 graduate of Sparkman High School. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing gospel hymns. Momma John lived a life of integrity, compassion, and joy. Her love of the savior was known by each and every person she encountered. She was, and will continue to be, a prayer warrior. She has touched the lives of many with her kindness and wisdom, leaving behind a profound impact on her family and friends.
A devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and Friend, Momma John was always willing to help and support those in need. Her smile was infectious and endearing, and at times, just what the doctor ordered. She was a Musician with her piano, and a singer with her angel voice as well, as an artist who loved to draw and paint. Her masterpiece is the legacy she painted in each and every one of our lives. Though Momma John no longer remains with us in the physical sense, the impact she has made in our lives will remain forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John Roy Hearnsberger, her second husband, Jerald Friday, one son, Perry Hearnsberger, one brother, John Myers and one sister, Frances Myers.
Survivors are three sons, Terry Ray Hearnsberger (Sharon) of Arkadelphia, Kerry Jay Hearnsberger (Victoria) of Petit Jean, AR and Berry Vay Hearnsberger ( Ruth) of Hallsville, TX, twenty-one grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Zac Hearnsberger officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Delamar Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Zac Hearnsberger, Brandon Hearnsberger, Jackson Hearnsberger, Adam Hearnsberger, Andrew Hearnsberger and Chris Cuellar.
Honorary pallbearer is Malek Hearnsberger.
