Judy Roberson

Judith Kay Rowe Roberson, of Azle, Texas, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on November 22, 2024.  Judy, affectionately named “JuJu” by her grand blessings was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas on July 15, 1944, to the late Austin and Louise Harper Rowe.

She graduated from Arkadelphia High school in 1962. After high school graduation she attended Henderson State University graduating with honors in 1966 to begin her long rewarding career in Elementary Education.

Her teaching career led her to touch many children’s lives across the south from Memphis, TN, Greenville, MS, and lastly White Hall, Arkansas where she chose to settle in and raise her family. Judy quickly became one of the favorite teachers and bonus moms to many students and friends of her children.

She had a strong voice of reason and encouragement in all the lives she impacted. Her many years of teaching were filled with lots of joy, love, and laughter; however, in 1983 she experienced one of the hardest and most unimaginable losses of her life when her middle son, Curtis Edward King, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 11.  Through her profound loss she did meet a loving, wonderful man, Mr. Don Roberson. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage. Both loved spending time with family, friends, and each other. In Judy’s spare time she enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, and crochet, however her most treasured time was spent with her 5 grandchildren: Austin King, Kade Griffin (Brooklin), Cameron Griffin, Klayton Stephens, and LaynieBeth Hodges, plus her 3 great grandsons: Kanyon, Kase, and the newest born Kaden Griffin whom she was able to hold for the first time 4 days before her passing.

Along with her parents, husband, and youngest son, she was also preceded in death by her sister; Martha Morgan and her brother; Jimmy Rowe.

She leaves behind to carry her legacy of warmth, strength, and courage to her oldest son Kevin King of Fayetteville, AR and her beautiful daughter Carmon King Hodges (Levi) of Azle, Texas.

Arrangements are being handled by Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, Ar.

Memorial Service will be held on December 9, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Mt. Zion cemetery 67 Mt. Zion Church Road

The family requests memorials given in memory of Curtis Edward King to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN or The Davidson  Campground 102 Fawn Ridge Lane Hot Springs, AR 71913
