Clark County’s unemployment rate for September 2024, not seasonally adjusted, is at 3.9%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.
According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 8,970 persons with 8,620 employed and 350 unemployed in September. This compares to August’s labor force of 8,814 with 8,377 employed and 437 unemployed.
The unemployment rate in Clark County fell 1.1% from the 5% reported in August. Clark County had the second-highest jobless rate among each of its six neighboring counties, lower only than Montgomery County. The highest jobless rate in Arkansas was 5.7% in Chicot County (Lake Village), and both Benton and Washington counties (Bentonville and Fayetteville, respectively) reported the lowest jobless rate, at 2.1%.
Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate was at 3.3% in September; no change from August. The U.S. unemployment rate was at 4.1% in September; also no change from the previous month.

The unemployment rate for Dallas County (Fordyce) is at 3.3% in September, down from 4% in August. Dallas County reports a labor force of 2,707.
The unemployment rate for Hot Spring County (Malvern) is at 3.2% in September, down from 3.7% in August. Hot Spring County reports a labor force of 13,937.
The unemployment rate for Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) is at 4% in September, down from 4.6% in August. Montgomery County reports a labor force of 2,940.
The unemployment rate for Nevada County (Prescott) is at 3.2% in September, down from 3.8% in August. Nevada County reports a labor force of 3,260.
The unemployment rate for Ouachita County (Camden) is at 3.5% in September, down from 4.2% in August. Ouachita County reports a labor force of 9,778.
The unemployment rate for Pike County (Murfreesboro) is at 3.2% in September, down from 3.9% in August. Pike County reports of labor force of 4,070.
