The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, Oct. 21
9:25 a.m.
A 911 call sent officers to the 200 block of North 14th Street for a dispute between two men, one of them possibly armed. A resident complained that the driver of a semi was blocking his driveway. The driver said he had been parking there for years and had permission to do so, and said he phoned police when he observed the resident gesture behind his back and under his shirt as though he were reaching for a weapon. The resident was detained for his agitated state. A weapon was not found in his possession. Officers advised the driver to find another parking spot for the time being due to the ongoing street construction nearby.

A woman reported someone racked up $74 in charges on her credit card after she had left it at a local fast food establishment.
Monday, Oct. 28
Police investigated a property theft at the 1300 block of Cutler Street. Additional details were not included in the felony incident report.

Tuesday, Oct. 29
1:55 p.m.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on an unlicensed sedan at 5th and Clay streets. The driver said her license plate had been stolen the previous weekend at Arkadelphia Walmart.
2:09 p.m.
A man reported someone, likely the mother of his child, withdrew the full amount of his recently deposited Social Security check from his CashApp account.
Wednesday, Oct. 30
11:10 a.m.
The company hired to relocate utilities along Pine Street reported the company hired to demolish Central Primary School had knocked a brick wall onto $10,000 of the former’s building materials, destroying them entirely. He asked that a report be filed for insurance purposes.

Thursday, Oct. 31
Police investigated a drug possession with intent to distribute at Highway 67 South. Additional details were not available in the felony incident report.
9:45 a.m.
A hit-and-run parking lot accident was reported at a plaza at 208 N. 26th Street. Witnesses informed police that the suspect, an elderly female, inspected the damage then left the scene. Provided with the suspect’s address, police made an unfruitful attempt to make contact with the lady, but while at the address found a vehicle with damage consistent with what had been reported.

Police investigated a drug possession at the 400 block of North 16th Street. Additional details were not included in the felony incident report.
7:29 p.m.
Officers conducted a civil standby at a Thompson Street residence while a female gathered her belongings.
Police investigated a theft of debit/credit cards at the 1300 block of North 10th Street. Additional details were not available in the felony incident report.

An Ozark man reported losing his brown leather wallet, possibly at Circle K the previous evening.
Sunday, Nov. 3
9:30 a.m.
Officers were requested at West Pine Exxon for a clerk’s complaint of an overly flirty customer who was also asking people for beer. The customer, Hugo Alberto Vasquez, 35, of Brownsville, Texas, was sitting in his parked vehicle outside when police arrived. Vasquez was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication once officers determined he had been drinking.

9:30 a.m.
A deputy took a Shiloh woman’s complaint of harassing communications by a known male.
10:22 a.m.
A Mt. Zion Road man reported he was bitten by a stray dog his family had been caring for since picking it up that Friday. He said he was bitten while attempting to break up a fight between the stray and a visiting neighbor’s dog.
Thursday, Oct. 31
12:19 p.m.
An Amity couple reported a burglary to their shop on Hickman Road. The thieves made off with $6,100 worth of equipment, including oxygen and acetylene tanks, a welder, a chainsaw and cedar slabs.
1 p.m.
A deputy was summoned to a private property accident off of Matlock Road, where the driver of a new Dodge Ram pickup had overturned the vehicle in a large excavated hole. The driver, out for a leisurely back-roading adventure, said he was unaware that he was on private property. The driver, a 21-year-old Hobgood Road resident, was removed from the vehicle with the help of first responders. Although complaining of a hurt collarbone, he denied transport to the hospital.

2 p.m.
A Cedar Hill, Texas, man phoned a deputy to report the theft of a game camera from the area of Pigg Loop (Vaden), adding that whoever took the camera apparently attempted to activate it, as he received an email from the game camera company advising him of such.

4:33 p.m.
A deputy conducted a civil standby for two females at the 7000 block of Highway 26 West, where one female gathered the rest of her belongings and returned some property she had previously taken without permission. She was advised not to return.
