Clark County’s unemployment rate for July 2024, not seasonally adjusted, is at 5.9%, according to a preliminary county-by-county report released by the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services.
According to the report, Clark County had a labor force of 8,585 persons with 8,078 employed and 507 unemployed in July. This compares to June’s labor force of 8,569 with 8,113 employed and 456 unemployed.
The unemployment rate in Clark County rose six-tenths of a percentage point from 5.3% in June. Clark County continued to have the highest jobless rate among each of its six neighboring counties. It had the 11th highest unemployment rate in July among Arkansas’s 75 counties.
Statewide, Arkansas’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate was at 3.3% in July; no change from June. The U.S. jobless rate is at 4.3% in July; also no change from the previous month.

The unemployment rate for Dallas County (Fordyce) is at 4.5% in July, up from 4.3% in June. Dallas County reports a labor force of 2,704.
The unemployment rate for Hot Spring County (Malvern) is at 4.4% in July, up from 4.2% in June. Hot Spring County reports a labor force of 14,132.
The unemployment rate for Montgomery County (Mt. Ida) is at 5.5% in July, up from 4.9% in June. Montgomery County reports a labor force of 2,923.
The unemployment rate for Nevada County (Prescott) is at 4.9% in July, up from 4.5% in June. Nevada County reports a labor force of 3,200.
The unemployment rate for Ouachita County (Camden) is at 4.7% in July, up from 4.3% in June. Ouachita County reports a labor force of 9,582.
The unemployment rate for Pike County (Murfreesboro) is at 4.6% in July, up from 4.3% in June. Pike County reports a labor force of 3,962.
