Two Glenwood women died in a single vehicle crash on Arkansas Highway 8.
The accident happened at about 6:52 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at 4467 Highway 8 East in Montgomery County, about 3 miles north of Glenwood.
According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, Lequeta Goodner, 78, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she left the westbound lane, corrected and exited the highway from the opposite lane. From there the SUV struck an embankment and overturned.
Goodner and a passenger, 97-year-old Evelyeen M. Ward, were pronounced deceased at the scene by Montgomery County Coroner Jeff Blansett.
Investigating state trooper Cpl. Zechariah Whitney noted the accident happened under clear skies and on dry roads.
