Joe Charles Atchley, age 88, of Hot Springs, passed from this life on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Seniors Comfort Assisted Living in Hot Springs. He was born February 26, 1938, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Oliver Henry “O.H.” and Merle Martin Atchley.
Joe was a 1956 graduate of Clinch County High School in Homerville, GA. and he attended South Georgia College. He served in the United States Army reserves from 1961-1978. Joe was the owner and president of Right of Way, USA. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ak-Dar Shrine Club, Enid Masonic Lodge #501 and the Chapel Springs Hunting Club. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gloria Gaye Atchley and one brother, Jon Mac Atchley.
Survivors are two sons, Mark Charles Atchley (Denise) of Taylors, SC and Michael Martin Atchley (Lisa) of Enid, OK, two brothers, Jim Atchley of Bismarck and Jerry Atchley (Mary) of Hot Springs, three grandchildren, Mallory Bryant, Matthew Atchley and Madelyn Atchley, two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Josie Bryant.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Dalark Methodist Church with Bro. Travis Langley officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Saturday until service time at the church.
Interment will be in Atchley Cemetery at Dalark.
