Officers were dispatched to Charlotte’s Hair Studio, 1801 Pine St., for a report of vandalism to a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Upon arrival an officer was met by Charlotte Hunter covered in grey and purple paint near a previously white F-150 with a fresh, uneven coat of purple and gray paint from front to rear. The officer also observed a kitchen table smashed through the front driver side windshield and a 2X6 piece of lumber smashed through the driver side door window. Her spouse’s arrival at the scene apparently triggered an outburst that ultimately led to Hunter’s arrest for disorderly conduct. The vandalized vehicle being shared marital property, an officer advised the husband that the damage would be considered a civil matter. At 8:28 p.m. Hunter was transported to the county jail, where she was to be held until a court appearance the following morning. While at the jail with Hunter, police were requested to return to the scene as the husband reported that a relative of Hunter’s was driving up and down the street making threats. As officers were preparing to respond to that complaint they observed the relative arrive at the jail to deliver Hunter’s medication. Police were en route to Pine Street when dispatchers advised the husband was at the police station to file a report on Hunter. Not seeing any evidence of a disturbance having happened at the Pine Street location, they returned to the police station and spoke with the husband and a female who reported that Hunter had just been at the Pine Street scene and making threats. Advised that filing a false police report could land them with felony charges, they filled out and signed written statements, which they reportedly wanted back when informed that Hunter was still being held prisoner at the jail at the time of their allegations. Their request was denied and they were instructed to leave. No further action had been taken at the time.
Police investigated a forgery at Southern Bancorp’s Pine Street branch. No additional details were given as felony incidents are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.
