Dispatch Desk: July 15-21

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Arkadelphia Police Department

Tuesday, July 16
9:26 a.m.
An officer was summoned to Winner’s Circle, 3120 W. Pine St., for a report that a known customer used a bad check to pay for $12.60 worth of fuel on July 13. The manager was advised of civil procedures.

Police opened an investigation of fraud reported at Southern Bancorp. Additional details were not available as felony incident reports at the Arkadelphia Police Department are not subject to public inspection.

Wednesday, July 17
11:07 a.m.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the 500 block of South 10th Street. The parties agreed to separate to cool the situation.

3:40 p.m.
A landlord reported that a recently evicted Wade Street tenant stole a furnished washer/dryer set and sold the appliances. The complainant was advised of warrant procedures, and the department’s Criminal Investigation Division was notified of the allegations.

11:43 p.m.
Franklin Deonco Williams, 31, of Camden, was arrested at 16th and Caddo streets for possession of marijuana, failing to register a vehicle, driving with a suspended license and obstructing governmental operations. The arresting officer followed Williams from 16th and Gresham streets on a zig-zag course to the location of the traffic stop. Williams’s vehicle displayed expired temporary tags, and he allegedly provided a name of Marvin Williams Jr. as well as a different birth date. The next morning staff at the Clark County Detention Center used fingerprint recognition to determine his true identity.

Thursday, July 18
6:20 a.m.
Officers conducted a welfare concern on a homeless person at the north side of Walmart’s parking lot after a concerned citizen phoned police about a man laying on the ground. The responding officer located the homeless man on the ground behind his vehicle, and he said he was OK. A check on him at midday yielded negative results.

Juvenile report: Runaway

9:51 a.m.
Officers were called to an apartment complex at 1016 Country Club Road for a female’s report that her boyfriend, in a fit of rage after being caught on a dating website, entered the residence without permission and broke kitchen furniture, a television, and a window. Threatened with police involvement, the male called his mother to pick him up, and he was gone prior to officers’ arrival.

1:13 p.m.
Theft of a new Craftsman push lawn mower was reported at the 1800 block of O’Connell Street. A neighbor said she had seen someone that morning pushing a mower matching the description on South 17th Street.

Juvenile report: Possession of a firearm by a minor

7:47 p.m.
Dennisha Danyell Craig, 28, and Carmelo Lamont Williams, 20, both of Arkadelphia, were arrested for third-degree domestic battery near Carpenter Hill Apartments and the train depot. The two were involved in an altercation with a third party when Williams struck Craig and Craig struck Williams.

9:20 p.m.
Kellie Ishisha Harris, 44, and Christopher Lamar Lee, 36, both of Arkadelphia, were arrested at 1609 O’Connell St. following a 911 call of a fight in progress in which a female had struck a male with a stick. Police arrived to find the pair in a verbal altercation. Harris allegedly struck Lee with a 3-foot length of metal square tubing, as well as a wooden stick. She was arrested for third-degree domestic battery. Lee, who wouldn’t allow officers to photograph the injuries to both of his arms, was also arrested for third-degree domestic battery.

Friday, July 20
Juvenile report: Information only

2:52 p.m.
A Logan Street woman reported that, on the night of June 28, she was in bed when someone hurled a rock through the bedroom window. She later discovered that a glass screen door had also been broken by a rock located just inside the doorway.

Monday, July 15
10 a.m.
A Fite Road, Joan, man reported that he has yet to receive a $2,012 lawn mower he purchased online on May 23. Attempts to contact the website have been unsuccessful.

Wednesday, July 17
1 p.m.
Theft of a red 2500W Stanley generator and a red sump pump was reported from a shed at the 4000 block of Highway 67 South, Gurdon.

Thursday, July 18
2 p.m.
Theft of a black 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was reported at a McDonald Road residence in the Vaden community. The complainant provided the name of a suspect who had spent the night at the residence.
