The City of Arkadelphia will show its second summer movie on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 7 p.m.
Originally scheduled for July 5, the second installation of Movies at the Rec will now be held on July 12. This is due to the July 4th holiday and delays in securing the necessary rights for the movie.
“While we originally wanted to host our summer movie series on the first Friday of each month, we think this will work out even better,” Special Events Manager Halle Mann said. “So many families are traveling for the 4th, which will give everyone something to do after the big holiday weekend.”
The third and final movie of the summer is still scheduled for Friday, August 2.
COMING JULY 12: ELEMENTAL
The 2023 animated Disney/Pixar film “Elemental” is set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live together. The movie follows the unlikely friendship of fire-resident Ember and water-resident Wade. Ember’s friendship with Wade shows her the world is bigger than her home in Fire City, leading her to make difficult decisions about her future.
“Elemental” will be shown inside the Multi-Purpose Room at the Recreation Center on Friday, July 12 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Concessions will be available for purchase.
