
Temperatures are on the way up later this week, with afternoon readings well into the 90s this weekend, the National Weather Service in Little Rock said.
Afternoon heat index values may reach triple digits by Saturday in parts of Arkansas, and in much of the state on Sunday.
According to the 6 to 10 day outlook from the Climate Prediction Center, Arkansas can expect to see above average temperatures beginning this weekend through early next week. Additionally, rainfall is expected to be near normal across the state.
The Arkadelphia area can expect mild evenings through Thursday night, June 13, 2024, with lows in the lower 60s. Highs will be climbing higher each day for the remainder of the week, with low 90s through Thursday; expect highs in the upper 90s this weekend.
The next chance of rainfall, according to the seven-day forecast at Dexter Florence Memorial Field, will come Monday, with a slight 20% chance of rain and thunderstorms.
