The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Tuesday, April 30

Wednesday, May 1
2:49 p.m.
Tracy Stone, 22, of Arkadelphia, and Derenzo Deshon Preston, 30, of Delight, were arrested at Walmart following a complaint of a female shoplifter attempting to return unpaid merchandise. Stone was arrested for theft of property, criminal trespass and three counts of failure to appear. Preston was arrested for criminal trespass and violation of a no contact order.

6:11 p.m.
A Center Street man reported someone attempted to gain entry into his home sometime between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. that same day. Damage was observed to a back door.

Police investigated a theft of a credit card at the 800 block of Clinton Street. No details were included in the report as felony cases are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

8:48 p.m.
Charles Allen Edwards, 61, of Arkadelphia, was arrested at Walmart for DWI following a complaint of a motorist driving on the wrong side of the road and “all over” the store parking lot. Edwards was booked into the county jail under the charges of public intoxication.

Thursday, May 2
Police investigated a residential burglary at the 1000 block of South 16th Street. No details were included in the report as felony cases are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

Police wrote an “information only” report for an incident that occurred at the 100 block of W.P. Malone Drive. No details were included in the report as felony cases are not available for public inspection at the Arkadelphia Police Department.

5:45 p.m.
Lawrence Jackson, 63, of Arkadelphia, was arrested at 805 S. 24th St. for third-degree domestic battery following a report of domestic violence at that address.

Friday, May 3
11:45 p.m.
Carlos Zacarias, 20, of Arkadelphia, was arrested for DWI at 11th and Pine streets; Zacarias was pulled over when the arresting officer observed him fail to stop at 14th Street’s intersection with Pine.

12:41 p.m.
Foster Hayes, 37, of Cleveland, Ohio, was cited at Walmart for criminal trespass. The store’s loss prevention officer observed Hayes in the store and provided police with paperwork dated May 3, 2024, from the Russellville Walmart banning him from all Walmart properties.

9:31 p.m.
Officers were summoned to Circle K, 3005 W. Pine St., for a woman’s report that she was attacked by another female. The aggressor fled the scene after throwing punches.

11:42 p.m.
A Walnut Street resident reported an unknown white male left a bicycle in her carport and walked away, eastbound. The activity was caught on the resident’s security camera earlier that evening, at about 8:30 p.m. Police took possession of the bicycle.

Sunday, May 5
5:57 p.m.
Police responded to Atwoods for a report of a shoplifter who fled from the store with two Milwaukee impact drivers valued at $499.99 apiece. Police were able to identify a possible suspect, who drove away in a silver Hyundai, as a Hot Springs man who has several aliases and had been recently booked into the Garland County Jail. No other action was taken at the time the report was filed.

7:13 p.m.
Patrick King, 40, of Arkadelphia, was cited at Walmart for theft of property following a report of a shoplifter who was scanning some items, but not all, while using the self-checkout.

Monday, April 29
2:24 p.m.
An employee of Little Mo’s Liquor, 8996 Highway 67 South, Gurdon, reported that on April 20 a known Prescott woman shoplifted a fifth of bourbon from the business.

Tuesday, April 30
4:24 p.m.
Justin Antonio Daniels, 25, of Arkadelphia, was arrested during a traffic stop at Highway 8 at Rest Haven Cemetery for possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a minor and driving with a suspended license.

Thursday, May 2
8:20 a.m.
A deputy was summoned to a deer camp on Witherspoon Road for a report of vandalism to what was identified as a “deer camp structure”. The vandalism was reported as Satanic symbols on the structure.

3:08 p.m.
A deputy responded to a Bateman Road location for a report of trespassers. The property owner made contact with the trespassers, who left without incident.

Sunday, May 5
12:11 a.m.
A deputy was sent to Delong Road for a complaint of an armed trespasser who ruined a party by trespassing on the gated area and yelling at the partiers. The deputy made contact with the trespasser, who said the gate was open and denied possessing a weapon.
