David Welch

David Lee Welch, age 75, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.  He was born May 2, 1948, in Clinton, IL, the son of the late Donald and Dorthy Webb Welch.  

David was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, IL. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War having received the Bronze Star for his service.  David was retired from Georgia Pacific after forty years of employment.  He later opened Welch Machine Shop and served the surrounding area.  David was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.  He enjoyed trout fishing, deer and pheasant hunting and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

David was preceded in death by his parents and his previous wife, Linda Welch. 

Survivors are his wife, Angela Berry Welch of the home, two sons, David Lee Welch (Sue) of Clinton, IL and Clint Aaron Welch (Jessica) of Arkadelphia, five daughters, Vicky Lynn Welch of Forsyth, IL, Amy Laura Burnett of Nashville, TN, Bonny Jean Burnett of Arkadelphia, Sherry Brumley (Douglas) of Beirne and Tammie May (Carroll) of Beirne, two brothers, Denny Welch of Idaho and Donnie Welch (Martha) of Clinton, IL, three sisters, Debbie Butler (Marty) of Harned, KY, Diane Parrott of Olney, IL and Darla Brown (Teddy) of Ward, thirteen grandchildren, Boe Welch (Morgan), Preston Welch (Madison), Zane Welch, Marshal Blake, Amanda Raegan, James Mizell, Bailey Welch, Peyton Welch, Aaralyn Zombro, Shelby Brumley, Mike Dow, Melissa Dow and Selena Hurst, six great-grandchildren, Kayden Welch, Ava Paul, Jayce Welch, Hadelyn Jo Welch, Evelynn Hickman and Konnor Welch.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2024, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Malone officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church.
