The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Monday, Feb. 19
8:30 a.m.
The manager of North 10th Street Dollar General reported a pair of known customers stole $100 worth of cigarettes during the previous evening’s shift. The female swiped an EBT card but was informed food stamps wouldn’t pay for tobacco products. She said she would go get cash to pay. The clerk suspended the transaction, then noticed the two loaded up their groceries and smokes into their vehicle and left. The male called the clerk later and said he would return to pay for the cigarettes.

Police opened a felony case of possession of a controlled substance at Walmart.
4:35 p.m.
A woman reported a known male who previously sold her vehicle as scrap and tried selling the wheels to someone else made a threatening comment to her when confronted about owing her money. She was advised of procedures to file a restraining order and informed to file a claim in small claims court for the money she felt she was owed.
Tuesday, Feb. 20
Juvenile: Disorderly conduct
10:39 a.m.
An officer took a delayed report of a Feb. 7 car accident at Sonic Drive-In.
11:41 a.m.
A woman said a dog bit her on the calf while at Barkadelphia Community Dog Park. She went to the hospital for treatment, and didn’t want to pursue charges against the dog’s owner.
Juvenile: Terroristic threatening, first degree
4:37 p.m.
A woman reported a known male flipped her the bird — with both fingers — when their vehicles crossed paths on 3rd Street near the railroad tracks.
5:57 p.m.
Officers responded to a residence at the 1800 block of Walnut Street for the unattended death of a 69-year-old female. The victim had been battling cancer.
Thursday, Feb. 22
6:56 p.m.
Christopher D. Williams, 28, was arrested at 851 Wade St. for violating a no-contact order. Williams’ arrest followed reports from Walmart staff of a verbal altercation between a male and female at a self checkout lane. Both parties left the store in separate vehicles and were intercepted at the residence as officers were able to obtain the address. It was discovered that Williams had an active court order preventing him from making contact with the female.
8:36 p.m.
A Main Street woman reported being defrauded of $1,000 from a debit card, likely by a known suspect.
Friday, Feb. 23
9:15 a.m.
A resident of a West Pine Street trailer park said her next-door neighbor taped a letter to her porch warning her to stop allowing her dog to go potty in his yard. An officer spoke with the neighbor, who admitted to a previous confrontation. He was told it was a civil matter and to communicate further concerns to the landlord.
3:12 p.m.
A motorist’s vehicle sustained damage to its front bumper, hood and windshield after a 3-foot metal pipe fell from an oncoming pickup truck and bounced off the pavement into her car. The incident happened on North 10th Street near its intersection with Elrod Boulevard.
Police investigated a vehicle breaking or entering at the 1800 block of Millcreek Drive.

12:26 p.m.
A resident at the 2400 block of Caddo Street reported someone broke a window of his abode. The man named a female he suspected of being responsible for the vandalism, and noted he had just had a window replaced days prior to the complaint.
6:35 p.m.
An intruder made his way into an empty HSU fraternity house the previous night, damaging three exterior doors in the process. A resident provided surveillance footage identifying the perpetrator. Both the resident and landlord were advised of warrant procedures. No police action had been taken at the time of the report.
11:35 p.m.
Officers responded to Stone Apartments, 100 Caddo St., for a report that a neighbor shot through their apartment. The neighbor who fired the shot approached them soon after, saying he had accidentally fired the weapon, asked if everyone was OK, then drove away from the apartments in the company of two females. Police were able to locate the shooter at Reddie Villas, 1000 M.H. Russell Dr., and identified him as Connor Crutchfield, 21. Still adamant that the shooting was an accident, Crutchfield was taken into custody on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm. The females allowed officers into the apartment where the shot was fired, and surrendered the weapon.

6:03 p.m.
Marcus Krantz, 23, was arrested at 64 Nunn Dr. for third-degree domestic battery following a report of a disturbance involving Krantz and a female.
Thursday, Feb. 22
3:52 p.m.
The theft of prescription medication treating anxiety and opioid withdrawals was reported at an Echols Road residence.
6:16 p.m.
Deputies responded to a report of a verbal altercation between an elderly couple at Clarence Road, Gurdon.
