A second Town Hall meeting hosted by the Move Arkadelphia Forward committee is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13 at 5:30 pm at the Arkadelphia Recreation Center located at 2555 Twin Rivers Drive in Arkadelphia.
Mayor Scott Byrd will moderate the session along with city board members and local officials. The first meeting was held on January 25 in which approximately 20 residents were in attendance to ask questions of the committee members.
The Committee to Move Arkadelphia Forward is advocating for an extension of the revenue source that local voters approved in 2019 by 66%.
“This is not an additional tax,” Mayor Scott Byrd said. We will be seeking to continue the current rate. We are asking Arkadelphia voters to allow us to continue the positive momentum the city has experienced over the past four years.”
Early voting begins on February 20 and continues until March 4 at the Arkadelphia Recreation Center. Election Day is March 5, 2024.
