Two Arkadelphia residents have been named to state boards or commissions.
Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently announced the following appointments:
Terry DeWitt, of Arkadelphia, was reappointed to the Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training. Term expires Jan. 14, 2027. The Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training was created by Act 1124 of 2001. Prior to that time, a committee appointed by the Governor worked with the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy to license and regulate the activities of Athletic Trainers. The Board is a licensing and regulatory organization created to issue licenses for athletic training and to uphold the standards prescribed by statute to protect the health of the public.
Vickie Egleston, of Arkadelphia, was appointed to the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission. Egleston replaces Jon Simpson. Her term expires Jan. 14, 2029. The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission is a division of the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism and is one of four state agencies that share proceeds from the Amendment 75 1/8-cent Conservation Tax. The commission and staff inspire individuals to improve their communities by educating, preventing litter, promoting recycling, and keeping Arkansas beautiful. They encourage everyone to accept responsibility for maintaining Arkansas’s scenic beauty, environmental health and quality of life.
The appointments were among 26 others statewide.
