Arkadelphia Parks & Rec touts 2024 website launch

The City of Arkadelphia’s Parks and Recreation Department is unveiling a new website in 2024.

The department is transitioning from its current recreation management software to SportSites, a Utah-based company.

“After 30 years in Recreation, I’ve tried several recreation management software and SportSites is by far the best,” Parks and Recreation Director Stuart Tapson said. “It’s extremely user-friendly for our customers and our staff. We’re excited to make the transition and are confident our residents will love it as much as we do!”

The new website will feature all of the same options as the former website. Residents will be able to sign up for youth and adult athletic programs, reserve ball fields and pavilions and check out the department’s upcoming events. Residents will also be able to purchase Recreation Center memberships and Aquatic Park passes through the new website.

“It’s so easy to find what you’re looking for on the new site,” Recreation Center Operations Manager Alicia Nichols said. “Before, you really had to search for a certain program or fitness class and now, you can’t miss it.”

Rather than receiving notifications through an app, the Parks and Recreation team will send any and all updates to the email associated with Recreation Center memberships. Notifications will also be sent to emails associated with program registrations.

The new website will be active on January 1, 2024. More information regarding the new website will be released after the launch.
