CADDO VALLEY — After about a year of on-and-off filming, local talent will have their chance to shine this coming Tuesday when a Discovery Channel special airs the affairs of illicit liquor distilling operations.

Since January, Moonshiners crews have been active in Clark County and other parts of The Natural State, filming scenes for the production of its 13th season. Some of that video takes place in the backwoods of Southwest Arkansas.

Betty’s Big Country Dance Hall, with its interior used as the backdrop of some scenes for an upcoming special episode titled “Ozark Outlaws to the Rescue”, will host a free watch party beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26. All ages are welcome to the event, and doors open at 5 p.m.

Big Chuk, an accomplished Gurdon “hick-hop” rapper, and his double-cousin Joe Boy are being introduced in the season as up-and-coming moonshiners eyeing Little Rock’s illicit liquor market, according to a Forbes report.
