The Arkadelphia Lions Club presented a $200 donation to the Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center.

PDMCSC staff were the guest speakers at the club’s meeting Thursday, Nov. 30, and gave a question-and-answer presentation about the nonprofit organization. Headquartered in Clark County, the child safety center serves a five-county area (Clark, Dallas, Hot Spring, Nevada and Pike) with satellite offices in Malvern and Prescott.

Children who are victims of abuse and/or neglect receive a variety of services from the PDMCSC, which is one of 17 child advocacy centers in Arkansas. Child safety centers offer therapy, medical exams, courtroom preparation, victim advocacy and case management, among other services.

The children they serve, ages 0-17, are taken to the safe, child-focused environment by a caregiver or other “safe” adult. In a one-on-one conversation, the child tells his or her story to a trained interviewer who knows the right questions to ask, and a team of professionals makes decisions together about how to help the child.

For more information about the PDMCSC, visit pdmcsc.org or call 870-403-6879. To report child abuse, call 844-SAVEACHILD.
