I-30 rollover leaves 1 dead, 2 minors hurt

A one-vehicle accident on Interstate 30 left one South Arkansas man dead and two juveniles injured

The accident happened at the 84 westbound mile marker near Friendship on Thursday evening.

According to a preliminary fatal crash summary, a juvenile driver was traveling west in a 2006 Honda Pilot when he/she veered off the highway. An attempt to correct resulted in the vehicle overturning on its driver’s side. 

All three occupants were ejected from the vehicle, which came to a final rest in the highway. Jashawn Craig, 18, of Pine Bluff, died in the crash. His body was transported to UAMS – PACU. The driver and another juvenile passenger were transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and CHI St. Vincent Hospital for treatment to unlisted injuries.

The accident happened at 5:17 p.m. under clear skies and dry roads, according to investigating Trooper Kendrick Davis of the Arkansas State Police.
