
Phillip Smith Halliday, age 68, of Bryant, formerly of Gurdon, passed from this life on Tuesday August 8, 2023, at his home. He was born February 19, 1955, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Dickey Spivey and Mary Ella Garrett Halliday, Sr.
Philip was a 1973 graduate of Gurdon High School. He was a retired independent truck driver and later with JW Hasley Trucking. Phillip was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. He enjoyed spending time with family and riding his side by side.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, SK and Georgia Garrett and George and Irene Halliday, one son, Blain Halliday, and one brother, Dan Halliday.
Survivors are his wife, Katye Currey Halliday of Bryant, two daughters, Amanda Fisher (Tim) of Bryant and Brittany Brady of Gurdon, one daughter in law, Janet Halliday of Curtis, one brother, Dickey Halliday, Jr. (Elaine) of Gurdon, one sister, Kay Snodgrass of Pearcy, eight grandchildren, Madison Culp (Josh), Cade McClure, Blakely McClure, Drew Fisher, Griffin Fisher, John William Reeves (Kayla), Ashleigh Halliday and Alison Huckey (Shawn), and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Gurdon with Bro. Mike Proctor and Bro. James Guthrie officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.In lieu of flowers the family asked for memorials made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, AR 72202 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
