Camden man has seizure, crashes SUV in deadly accident

Passengers in a deadly July 4 wreck say the driver had a seizure before losing control of his vehicle and striking a tree.

Treyveon K. Pace, 22, of Camden, was killed in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday. According to a fatal crash summary, Pace was the driver of a 1999 Ford Expedition that collided with a tree at the intersection of Cuba Circle and Dunning Street.

Irishawna and Shenna Paschal, passengers in the vehicle, told police that Pace had exited Carnes Park and was driving west across state Highway 7 when he began having a seizure. Pace then crossed the highway, drove onto Cuba Circle and left the roadway before the collision with the tree. After the impact the vehicle rolled onto its right side, the report states.

Both passengers were transported to the Ouachita County Medical Center for treatment to unknown injuries. Pace’s body was taken to the Ouachita County Sheriff’s Office Morgue.

The accident happened at 11:27 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2023, under clear skies and on dry roads, according to investigating Officer Leslie M. Herring of the Camden Police Department.
