Paula Gail Wade, age 75, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, June 9, 2023, at CHI St Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.  She was born August 11, 1947, in Mineral Springs, TX, the daughter of the late William Edward and Verna Beatrice Wheeler Nicks.  

Paula was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School and a 1965 graduate of Arkadelphia Beauty College.  She owned and operated Paula’s Beauty Salon in Arkadelphia for many years.  She was a member of second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia.  Paula enjoyed camping, fishing, farming and being with her family most of all.  She loved watching her favorite T.V. show, “Naked and Afraid” in her free time. 

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Chad Wade, two sisters, June and Pauline, two brothers, Larry and Harold Nix.

Survivors are her husband of fifty-eight years, Wendell Lee Wade of Arkadelphia, one son, Keith Wade (Kassie) of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Wendy Howard (Keith) of Arkadelphia, one sister, Verna Parish (Hubert) of Social Hill, three grandchildren, Britini Wade of Gurdon, Branden Howard (Kayla) of Sheridan and Karsen Howard of Arkadelphia, six great-grandchildren, Sienna Wade, Madison Wade, Kimber Howard, Austen Howard, Brett Wade and Creed Fisher.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Louie Heard officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to UAMS, Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, 449 Jack Stephens Dr, Little Rock, AR 72205  

Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Donnie Parish, David Parish, Derrin Parish, Blake Riggan, Jason Ramsey and Joe Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers are Keith Wade, Branden Howard and Karsen Howard.
