Lynda Sue Phillips, age 77, of Benton, passed away Friday, June 9th, 2023. Lynda was born on Christmas Day in 1945.
She was a graduate of Gurdon High school. She earned both a Master of Science in Education – Special Education and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Henderson State University. Lynda dedicated her life to education until she retired from Harmony Grove School district in Benton, Arkansas.
Lynda loved the arts and enjoyed many hobbies including baking, ceramics, painting, drawing, music, and knitting. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and watching mysteries on PBS.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Daniel and Kristi Phillips Sellers and grandchildren Corey Daniel, John Wayne Daniel, and Beckett Sellers. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Virgie Baker, and her two brothers, Wallace and Charles Grimmett.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 24th at 11 a.m. at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon, AR. Lynda was an avid supporter of Public Television, so in lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to PBS at http://www.myarkansaspbs.org.
