Francis Lyvon Overton of Carrollton, Texas, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the age of 87.

She was born March 20, 1936, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and she was a graduate of Gurdon High School. She was a registered nurse, and she worked twenty years as a surgical nurse. She belonged to First Baptist Church of Carrollton, Texas.

Lyvon was devoted to her family. Her husband, Dale, preceded her in death, as did her sister, Ruth Orten and her daughter, Lisa Hahn.  

She is survived by her son, Phillip Overton; her four grandchildren: Kristy and Michael Overton and Christopher Hahn and Paige Mills; as well as 2 great-grandchildren: Ian and Parker Hahn.

Lyvon will be remembered for her great cooking, her beautiful quilting and handwork, her love of plants and her interest in genealogy. She also loved to play bridge and host a dinner party.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Golden Cemetery in Piney, Arkansas.
