4-H summer program to introduce youth to local professions

Youth in Clark County will have the opportunity this summer to get a glimpse of local professions. A 4-H program titled The Future is Green will show members different job perspectives.

Every Friday from June 9 through Aug. 4, registered youth ages 12-19 can take part in the program. Each Friday’s tour will visit up to two businesses but could hear from as many as 10 different job perspectives. Professions visited will range from architecture to small engine repair to veterinarian.

Most career location visits will be from 1:30-4 p.m. Drop-off and pick-up location will be the Clark County Extension Office parking lot at 640 S. 6th St., Arkadelphia.

Registration ends Thursday, May 25, at the end of the business day.

The program is free, and participants are not obligated to attend each Friday during the course of the summer. Participants will receive a t-shirt. Enrollment in 4-H is required, but that is also free. Call 870-246-2281 for more information on joining 4-H.
