Contractors appear to be wasting no time in building what will become the new Peake Elementary School campus on Pine Street in Arkadelphia.

On Tuesday, April 18, the Little Rock-based Nabholz was erecting the framework of the kindergarten wing, located on the west side of the campus along School Street. School district officials broke ground on the new K-4 campus in January.

The Arkadelphia Board of Education last year approved a $26.2 million budget to build the new campus.

The campus is expected to be complete in time for the fall semester of the 2024-25 school year. Once finished, the school district will have three campuses: Peake (K-4), Goza Middle School (5-8) and Arkadelphia High School (9-12).
