Police make arrest in Arkadelphia following abduction report

Authorities on Tuesday afternoon arrested a Clark County man accused of abduction.

Arkansas State Police arrested a suspect on North 10th Street near Buck Lane. According to police, a female reported she was being held against her will.

According to officials, state police broadcast the incident as an abduction after a female communicated with a state trooper that she was being held against her will while traveling toward Arkadelphia from the Little Rock area.

Police identified the suspect as Kenneth Hudspeth, 27, of Arkadelphia. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Clark County Detention Center on unlisted charges. He was expected to be charged with possession of a firearm by a certain person. Charges are pending and will be determined by Prosecutor Dan Turner.

About a dozen law enforcement vehicles from ASP, Arkadelphia Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office were at the scene of the arrest, which happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
